Lensbaby Blog Circle - January
This Lensbaby Blog Circle is the brainchild of Janet Broughton of Definitly Dreaming, who iniciated it at the end of last year. Meanwhile, this blog circle has 19 members, most of whom live in England - at least that's my impression - so the posts for this topic will be in English - the German text is accessible via the anchor link above 'deutscher Text' or if you prefer you can just scoll down, you will find it below the English Version.
I do not knew exactly how a blog circle works - in theory I will link this post to another blog and if you follow the links, you will end up on my blog again - at least I think that this could be the case if I understood the description correctly 😉.
I am in love with the Lensbabies since the first one, 'Muse' hit the market in 2005, A love that lasts until today, my Lensbaby family grew over the years quite steadily - although I have to admit that I did not use them very often. This is because the Lensbabies are especially good for stillifes and plant and flower photography - subjects I'm not really into, and for the other, I often found the effect too strong to make a whole project with, in my opinion it wears off quite quickly.
Since the Velvet 56 is released, you find me more often photographing with a Lensbaby because the effect is very well controlled through choice of aperture, and the bokeh and colors are truly and exceptionally graceful.
The Lensbaby Blog Circle now gives me the opportunity to take at least one baby on the photo excursions.
And the first excursion was right on, the Nuremberg Igers invited last week to an #analogwalk in the Germanische Nationalmuseum in collaboration with the Museum.
So I packed the Fuji with the Trio28 next to the pinhole camera for this photowalk.
There is a lot to see in this museum, it is built around an old church with cloisters - just those cloisters are worth seeing, there is plenty of clerical art, statues, angels, opulent paintings, there are old globes and sundials, musical instruments and clothes - and still a lot more - I did not see everything.
The lighting conditions in the museum, however, were not well suited for photography - the modern digicams handle ISO 3200 and higher very well but for analog photography, even pushing the film to 1600 ISO, it is really difficult. Without a tripod we would have been quite lost - luckily we had a waiver for it.
The section 'clothing of the 20th century' it was especially dark. To protect the fabrics there were only small islands of light for the showcases and these islands were very weak -
... in fact, it was so dark that my entry into this floor started with a quite spectacular fall down the stairs, because I missed - at least the last, but it felt like missing the last three - steps: my appearance was extremely loud and rude. .. knee and two fingers are still blue ... but nothing happened to the cameras ...
Despite the hard start, that was my favorite room in the end.

Der Lensbaby Blog Circle war die Idee von Janet Broughton von Definitly Dreaming, die Ende letzten Jahres dazu eingeladen hat. Mittlerweile hat dieser Blog Circle 19 Mitglieder, die größtenteils aus England kommen - zumindest ist das mein Eindruck - daher sind die Posts für dieses Thema auf englisch - der deutsche Text ist über die Fahne zu erreichen und steht unter dem englischen Teil.
So ganz genau wusste (und weiß) ich noch nicht, wie das mit so einem Blog Circle funktioniert - mittlerweile besteht diese Gruppe aus 19 Leuten, die an diesem Projekt mitmachen wollen - in der Theorie werde ich diesen Beitrag dann mit einem anderen Blog verlinken und wenn man den links folgt, kommt man dann am Ende dann wieder auf meinem Blog heraus - ich denke mir jedenfalls, dass das so gehen könnte, wenn ich die Beschreibung richtig verstanden habe ;-)
Als 2005 das erste Lensbaby, das 'Muse' auf den Markt kam, war es Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Eine Liebe, die bis heute angehalten hat , denn seitdem sind noch einige andere Lensbabies dazugekommen - auch wenn ich sie nicht so wirklich oft einsetze. Das liegt einmal daran, dass sich die Lensbabies ganz besonders gut für Stilleben und Pflanzen-/Blumenfotografie eignen - Themen, mit denen ich mich eigentlich nicht beschäftige und zum anderen, dass ich den Effekt oft zu stark fand, um eine ganzes Projekt damit zu machen, ich fand oft, dass sich das schnell abnutzt.
Seitdem es das Velvet 56 gibt, bin ich etwas häufiger mit einem Lensbaby anzutreffen, da da der Effekt sehr sehr gut über die Blende zu steuern ist, und das Bokeh und die Farben wirklich aussergewöhnlich anmutig sind.
Der Lensbaby Blog Circle gibt mir nun aber DIE Gelegenheit ab jetzt mindestens ein Baby auf die Fotoexkursionen mitzunehmen.
Und die satnd auch gleich an, denn die Nürnberger Igers haben in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Museum letzte Woche zum #analogwalk durchs Germanischen Nationalmuseum eingeladen. Eingepackt wurde nun also neben der Lochkamera auch die Fuji mit dem Trio28.
Zu sehen gab es in diesem Museum eine ganze Menge, es ist um eine alte Kirche mit Kreuzgängen herum gebaut - alleine diese Kreuzgänge sind sehr sehenswert, es gibt jede Menge Kirchenkunst, Statuen, Engel, opulente Gemälde, es gibt alte Globen und Sonnenuhren, Musikinstrumente und Kleidung - und noch eine Meng mehr - ich habe gar nicht alles sehen können.
Die Lichtverhältnisse im Museum waren allerdings fürs Fotografieren eher nicht so gut geeignet, die modernen Digicams packen ISO 3200 und höher ja sehr gut, aber die Filme tun sich da - auch wenn ich auf 1600 ISO pushe, doch etwas schwer. Ohne Stativ wären wir da doch ziemlich eingeschränkt gewesen - glücklicherweise hatten wir eine Ausnahmegenehmigung dafür.
In der Abteilung 'Kleidung des 20. Jahrhunderts' war es ganz besonders dunkel, um die Stoffe zu schützen gab es nur kleine Lichtinseln für die Schaukästen und auch diese waren sehr schwach -
...es war tatsächlich so dunkel, dass mein Eintritt in dieses Stockwerk mit einem spektakulären Sturz die Treppe hinunter begann, da ich - mindestens die letzte, gefühlt aber die drei letzen - Stufen nicht gesehen habe: mein Erscheinen war also laut und unsanft... Knie und zwei Finger sind noch blau ... aber den Kameras ist nix passiert...
Trotz des harten Starts war das am Ende mein Lieblingsraum.
